Entity
Ribosome
Ribonucleoprotein complex that reads messenger RNA and synthesizes proteins.
It is a ribonucleoprotein complex made of ribosomal RNA and proteins, organized into two subunits (30S and 50S in bacteria, which assemble into a 70S ribosome), that catalyzes protein synthesis by reading messenger RNA.
It is the universal translation machinery across all domains of life and the site where the genetic code is converted into an amino acid sequence; its correct assembly is essential for cell viability.
The video describes it as the workshop or machinery that synthesizes proteins, and explains that Escherichia coli never stops making ribosomes because without ribosomes there is no translation. It also details how its small subunit first binds the messenger RNA and the large subunit then completes the 70S ribosome to begin reading the codons.

- The Rule Behind All Life | The Central Dogma12:51
