Entity
DNA polymerase I
Enzyme that replaces RNA primers with DNA during bacterial replication.
It is a bacterial DNA polymerase with 5′ to 3′ exonuclease activity in addition to its polymerase activity, which lets it remove nucleic-acid stretches ahead of it while synthesizing DNA.
During replication it replaces RNA primers with DNA and participates in repairing damage to genetic material. It is far less processive than DNA polymerase III and acts mainly on short stretches.
The video notes that it removes the RNA primers from the Okazaki fragments and replaces them with DNA nucleotides, a task required because those primers contain uracil instead of thymine.
