DNA
Molecule that stores the cell's genetic information.
It is a nucleic acid composed of deoxyribonucleotides joined by phosphodiester bonds and usually organized as an antiparallel double helix. The sequence of its bases stores heritable information.
DNA is the material basis of inheritance in nearly all organisms and directs RNA synthesis. Its replication and repair preserve genetic continuity across cells and generations.
The videos present DNA as a book of instructions that can be read to produce RNA and, from it, proteins, an idea Francis Crick named the central dogma in 1958. They also state that its replication begins when topoisomerase relieves tension in the helix.
