Protein

Macromolecule made of amino acids that is the final product of translation.

It is a macromolecule made of one or more chains of amino acids joined by peptide bonds, whose sequence is determined by the messenger RNA during translation.

Proteins carry out most cellular functions: they catalyze metabolic reactions, form part of the cell's structure and take part in its signaling; they are the final product of the flow of genetic information described by the central dogma.

The video presents them as the result of the ribosomes' work, noting that without proteins there simply is no cell, and it describes how, once translation ends, the new protein is ready to function.
