How to play

The enzyme moves along the strand: match each base before time runs out.
Answering fast raises your combo: +0.1 per answer in a row, up to ×1.9 at nine. One miss sends it back to zero.
Every mistake or missed base costs fidelity. If it hits zero, the gene mutates and the chain gets cut short.
The gene has 6 codons + one stop codon, different every round.

Tutorial modeA guided run through the three stages, with animations of how it is done. No clock, no penalties: it does not score and does not enter the leaderboard.

Easy · EnzymePlenty of time on every step, and the keys stay put for the whole round. Ideal for learning the mechanic.

Medium · ProcessiveWindows get shorter, the keys reshuffle at the start of each stage, and in translation you pick from six amino acids instead of four. You need to keep pace with the enzyme. ×1.4

Hard · ExpertKeys reshuffle on every base and the perfect-answer bonus demands twice the speed. In translation you type the amino acid; the code wheel stays visible. ×2
